Your map stays on your phone.

Sofar is a travel map for iPhone and Android. There is no Sofar account. The map, the trips and the settings stay on the phone, and you can export or delete them yourself.

Who we are

Sofar is published by Trade Like A Pro SRL. For anything about this policy or your data, email mirceacnu@gmail.com.

Photos

If you allow photo access, Sofar reads the place and date of photos, on the phone, to suggest countries you have been to. It does not upload the pictures, and it does not read them as images. On Android, Sofar also asks for access to photo locations, because Android hides where a photo was taken without it. You can skip the scan and mark countries yourself, and turn photo access off in your phone’s settings at any time.

What stays on the phone

Countries, trips, nights, counting choices, share settings and the invite count are stored on the device. Start over, in You, clears that data on the phone. Deleting Sofar removes it too.

Export as CSV or JSON sends a file to the share sheet you choose. Sofar does not receive that file.

Plan with AI

On an iPhone with Apple Intelligence, trip planning and booking text are processed on the device by Apple’s on-device model. Sofar does not send those prompts to a Sofar server. On iPhones without Apple Intelligence, and on Android, that feature is hidden and the offline planner still works.

Sofar Pro and purchases

You can unlock Pro by sending three invites, or by buying Lifetime (app.sofar.pro.lifetime) from the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google processes the payment; Sofar never sees your card, your Apple ID or your Google account.

Purchases are handled with RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives a random app user id and whether that Apple ID or Google account owns Pro, so Restore can bring a purchase back on a new phone. That record is used to unlock Pro and to count purchases in RevenueCat’s reports. It is not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and it is not used for advertising. RevenueCat’s own policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.

An invite is a message you send. It includes your country count and a link to sofar.app. Sofar cannot see whether a friend opens it. Friends get nothing for opening the link.

Links you open

Holafly, Airbnb and Booking.com open in the browser when you tap them. Those sites have their own privacy policies. Sofar does not receive an account with them.

What Sofar does not do

  • Sofar does not sell personal information.
  • The app has no advertising and no analytics SDK.
  • Sofar does not collect your photos, your map or your trips on a server.

This website

sofar.app sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. Fonts and images are served from this site. Our host, Vercel, processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the pages and keep them secure.

Your choices

You can export or clear everything Sofar stores from the You tab, and turn photo access off in your phone’s settings at any time. To ask about the purchase record described above, or to have it deleted, email mirceacnu@gmail.com.

Delete your data

Sofar has no account, so almost everything it knows lives only on your phone.

  • Your map, trips, nights and settings are deleted from the phone with You → Start over, or by deleting the app. No copy is kept anywhere else.
  • The Sofar Pro purchase record at RevenueCat (a random app user id and whether it owns Pro): email mirceacnu@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my Sofar data” and the order number from your App Store or Google Play receipt. We delete the record within 30 days and reply to confirm. Deleting it doesn’t cancel or refund the purchase: Apple and Google keep their own receipts under their policies, and Restore can bring Pro back.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
