How can we help?
Sofar is the travel map on your phone. Your map stays on the phone, and there is no account to sign in to.
Write to us
Tell us your phone model and its iOS or Android version, and what you were doing when it happened.
The map looks empty
Allow photo access when Sofar asks, or mark countries yourself. The scan uses where photos were taken. Pictures are not uploaded. You can run it again from You → Scan photos again.
If you gave Sofar access to only some photos, it can only find countries in those. You can change this in iOS Settings → Sofar → Photos, or on Android in Settings → Apps → Sofar → Permissions. On Android, also allow access to photo locations, or Sofar can’t tell where photos were taken.
A place is missing
You can mark a country yourself from the map. For a missing island, park or town, email us with the place and the country it belongs to.
Counting countries
Choose how Sofar counts in You → Counting: UN members only (193), UN members and observers (195), UN members plus four (197) or all 250 countries and territories. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland can count as one or four.
Sofar Pro
Three invites unlock Pro for life. Copy link counts. Buying Lifetime is a one-time purchase on the App Store or Google Play, not a subscription.
Restore purchase, in You → Sofar Pro or on the Pro screen, checks your Apple ID or Google account and brings Lifetime back on a new phone. An invite unlock is never removed by a restore.
Refunds
Purchases are made through Apple or Google, so refunds are handled by them: on iPhone at reportaproblem.apple.com, on Android through Google Play’s refund page.
Plan with AI
Plan with AI needs an iPhone with Apple Intelligence turned on. On other iPhones and on Android it is hidden, and “Plan it for me” still builds a route offline.
Your data
You → Export as CSV, or Export everything, hands a file to the share sheet. Start over clears the map and trips on this phone.
